Balance Beam

Walk along the beam using feet only.

Balance Beam

The balance beam tests coordination, stability, and focus while moving across a narrow surface. Keep your eyes forward (not on your feet), engage your core, and take small, controlled steps rather than rushing. Use your arms for balance and stay relaxed—tension makes you wobble. To train for it, practice single-leg balance drills, slow walking on a curb or line, and core stability exercises like planks and single-leg hinges to improve control and confidence.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Start with one foot on the starting red line.
  • Walk along the beam using feet only.
  • Touch the red line at the end of the beam with at least one foot before touching the ground.

DISALLOWED

  • Touching the ground before touching the end red line.
  • Touching the beam with any body part other than the feet.
  • Touching or switching to another beam after beginning an attempt.

USE ONLY FEET

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Once both feet are placed on the beam, the attempt is considered started.
